On Tuesday November 1, 2016 Brassband Willebroek will give its annual soloist concert in the Cultural Center Zwaneberg in Heist-op-den-Berg. After an edition with its own soloists, the band is happy to present tuba virtuoso Les Neish (UK).
Raveling, Unraveling
Brassband Willebroek will also give you a taste of the set test piece for the Belgian Brassband Championship 2016, at the end of November at the same location. “Raveling, Unraveling” by Philip Sparke is a beautiful tribute to the masterpiece by French composer Ravel, “La Valse”. In addition to this commissioned work for the British Cory Band at the European Brass Band Championship 2016, the program also includes recent works by Stan Nieuwenhuis, Christopher Bond & Daniel Hall.
To remove all doubts, you can still get ready for a premiere of a 'test piece' written by British composer, Simon Dobson, who recently received a British Composer Award.
“The Turing Test” is a test of intelligence in a computer, in which a human person should not be able to distinguish between the machine or another human person on the basis of questions answered by both. Alan Turing is considered the father of modern computer science and much, not to say, all of our modern computing technology and connectivity that we take for granted today was born from the work of this one great yet haunted man.
