Micheline Van Hautem is renowned as one the finest Jacques Brel impersonators. In 2001 Micheline sold more than 20.000 copies of her album ‘Songs of Jacques Brel’. This gave her the opportunity to give concerts in the Netherlands, France, New-Zealand, Australia and the United States. Micheline Van Hautem started thinking of how the music of Brel would sound in combination with the warm sounds of a fanfare or brassband. She asked a few top arrangers to make some quality arrangements of Brel’s music. Ivan Meylemans (Koninklijk Concertgebouw Orkest) was appointed as artistic director.
In the spring of 2017 the tour Brel & Brass started in the Netherlands, where she gave 35 concerts, all with fanfares, wind bands or brass bands. This saturday Brass Band Willebroek will perform together with Micheline Van Hautem. The warm sounds of Brass Band Willebroek in combination with the voice of Micheline will resolute in a high level concert, overwelming and cosy!
